Welcome to Boomerang Hair Studio in historic Pacific Grove, California. My name is Larry Zellers and this is my hair replacement and educational center. After years of preparation, countless working hours and learning experiences, the dream has finally become a reality. For years I listened to my family complain about their medical and genic hair loss. So, I finally did something about it. None of this could have happened without so many people's love and encouragement.
As you can see this is no average salon. In fact.at Boomerang Hair Studio we only have two goals...education and glamour! We are so excited to share information, resources, referrals and yes...good old fashion customer service. Topics include: "Beauty" support groups, specialty classes for the trichotillomania and transgender community, medical and non-medical hair loss, mens and children's hair loss options, laser hair therapy, surgical hair restoration, hair replacement styling, make-up lessons, eyebrow and eyelash application (hands on classes) and much more.
We are proud to offer a wide range of hair replacement options. Regardless of the degree of a person's hair loss, we look forward to help everyone find a solution that works best for them. For some, it maybe hair replacement to be worn during their medical treatments or more long term needs.
I enjoy working closely with the medical, psychiatric, hair replacement and beauty industry. My specialty is sharing my knowledge as an educator and advocate on trichotillomania and transgender hair loss. As a former puller, I know change can happen. My classes are guaranteed to be uplifting with a sense of humor and sensitivity to issues any hair loss group may have. I am also available as a keynote speaker for women's health, anti-aging, support groups and the diversity community.
Our presence both in person and on the web has come in a time when people are looking for quality and personalized service. In giving back to the community a percentage of our retail sales are shared with a local pet adoption group called "Animal Friends Rescue Project." (Animal Friends Rescue.org) Pets are wonderful support for all of us. One of the other green programs we are involved in is recycling our cut hair to be made into oil spill mats to be used after petroleum spills to help clean up wildlife and beaches. We are currently developing our online registry for in salon goods and services. Soon you will be able to develop your own "Wish List" to be viewed by family and friends worldwide. This takes the guess work out of gifting. Your "Wish List" can be updated in person or on the web as your needs may change and new merchandice and services are available.
We have so many exciting events planned for the future including plus size fashion shows, drag shows, accessory shows (hats, gloves, and pearls...) femininity and movement coaching. We have more then doubled our facility in less then six months and looking forward to continuing our expansions. On a personal note, I would like to thank some of the many people who have been such inspirations to me. Walt Disney's example has shown me a different way of doing business, by creating an environment where people are excited and looking forward to returning in person or on the web. Some extraordinary women who have had a huge influence on me are Elizabeth Taylor, Julie Newmar, Betty Page, and Divine by their elegance and zest for life.
